How much time do you really spend on TikTok?
Your phone’s screen-time report only goes back a few weeks. TikTok’s own data download goes back much further — it lists every video you watched, with the date and time. That’s enough to rebuild your real habits.
Step 1 — Request your TikTok data
- Open TikTok → profile → ☰ → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data.
- Choose All data. Your watch history is only included there.
- Choose the JSON format (TXT also works) and tap Request data.
- When it’s ready (hours to a few days), open the Download data tab and save the ZIP.
Step 2 — Turn the history into hours
Drop the ZIP on the TikTok tool. The watch history only records when each video started, so Unwrapped groups views into sessions: views less than 10 minutes apart belong to the same session. Each session lasts from its first to its last video, plus a short tail for the final one. Add them up and you get an honest estimate of your total time.
What you’ll find out
- Total hours and minutes per day over your history.
- Your longest binge — the day, how long, how many videos.
- When you scroll — a weekday × hour heatmap, and how much happens after midnight.
- Your scrolling persona — Night Owl, Lunch-Break Looper, Midnight Doomscroller…
- Your most frequent searches, likes over time, and which devices logged in.
Make your own TikTok Wrapped
TikTok doesn’t make a yearly Wrapped of your viewing. Unwrapped turns your stats into a story-sized card (1080×1920) you can share to TikTok, Instagram or WhatsApp — with numbers only, never other people’s names.
Using the number
Seeing “300+ hours” can be a wake-up call. Look at your heatmap: if most viewing happens late at night, a bedtime limit in TikTok’s Screen time settings or your phone’s focus mode is the easiest win.
FAQ
Does TikTok show my total watch time?
TikTok shows recent daily screen time in its settings, but not a long-term total. Your data download contains the full watch history, which is what we use.
How accurate is the estimate?
Because the export doesn’t record how long you watched each video, any total is an estimate. Grouping views into sessions is consistent and avoids the big over-counting that comes from multiplying videos by an average length.
Is my watch history uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is processed in your browser and never leaves your device.
Drop your export. Get answers in seconds.
No password, no upload — everything runs on your device.
