Every comment you ever wrote.

The app shows them one by one. Your data download has all of them, with dates and links to the posts.

In the app

  1. Go to your profile → menu (☰) → Your activity.
  2. Tap Comments.
  3. Sort newest or oldest first, filter by date, and delete comments you don’t want anymore.

You can’t search the text of your comments, and on years of activity it takes a lot of scrolling.

All of them, from your data download

Your Instagram data download has a comments folder with every comment you posted on posts and reels: the text, the date and whose post it was on.

Open the download in the Instagram likes and comments finder to search your comments by word or account and jump to each post. It runs on your device; nothing is uploaded.

Clean up old comments

Applying for a job or just tidying up? Search your comments for words you’d rather not see, then delete them in Your activity. Our social media clean-up guide has a checklist.

FAQ

Can I search my Instagram comments?

Not in the app. In your data download, every comment is plain text, so a tool like Unwrapped can search it.

Are comments on deleted posts included?

No. When a post is deleted, the comments on it are removed too.

Does anyone know when I look at my comments?

No. Your activity and your data download are private to you.
